Year 3
This half term, the children have been practising a larger range of mark making skills including stippling and contour lines. They also have been working with thin nib drawing pens, charcoal pencils, charcoal vines as well as pastels, colouring crayons and felt tip pens. Year 3, next used their mark making skills to shade shapes and create shadows. After this, they learnt how to draw and shade a cube using charcoal vine and practised creating different scale drawings of cubes on their page. The children are all looking forward to creating rubix cubes using sharpee markers and colouring crayons! They all had a go at making a bottle 3D using lines anId felt tip marker pens...a task that is by no means easy but they all enjoyed the challenge. In the weeks before Christmas, they learnt more about portrait drawings and worked with pastels to create self-portraits in the style of the Italian artist, Amedeo Modigliani! Fabulous job year three!
